WHEELS TO WORK
One of the main causes of family homelessness is lack or loss of transportation. Without reliable transportation, families struggle to get to jobs. Through Always Home's Wheels to Work Program, transportation problems are quickly resolved so that parents can get to work, earn an income, pay the rent and sustain housing for their children.
Support can include financial assistance with car repairs, insuring and registering a vehicle, renewing a license and gas cards to help defray the cost of commuting.
To be eligible for Wheels to Work assistance, you must be a family with minor children, live in Eastern Connecticut (New London County or Windham County) and be employed. If you meet these eligibility requirements, contact Marlynn Benker at mbenker@alwayshome.org for more information.
