2019 COUNT OF HOMELESSNESS IN CONNECTICUT

The Point in Time (PIT) Count is a snapshot of the average number of homeless in our State on any given night. Conducted by the CT Coalition to End Homelessness, the 2019 CT PIT count identified 3,033 people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. Family homelessness accounted for 933 of these individuals of whom 577 were children under the age of 18. Good news is that homelessness is down 32% from when the count first started in 2007. However, Always Home's prevention work continues. No child should experience the trauma of homelessness.
